The below procedures are in place to keep you safe, we will continue to monitor and change as the time goes on.
Booking your Gym, Pool Session or Class
We have slightly reduced opening times for now which will hopefully only be for a short period of time.
Weekdays, Monday to Friday 7AM – 9PM. Saturday and Sunday 9am to 5pm (last entry 1 hour before close).
The FitSense app is there for you to book your slot for the Gym, Pool or Class.
The Gym has a restriction on the number of members who can be in the gym at any one time and a booked session will be for 1 hour although this can be flexible depending on bookings. The gym is never over busy even at peak times normally so our max social distancing capacity will easily cope.
Members are asked where possible to come to the club Gym Ready to reduce the use of the changing rooms and again if possible, to shower at home afterwards.
Members are required to pre book a 45 minute pool session via the FitSense app. A maximum of 7 members are allowed per session. Any more than 2 members in the pool at any one time, members are asked to swim around the edge of the pool in a circle in order to maintain social distancing. The steam room for now will unfortunately remain closed, however the spa and sauna are now open but for one person at a time for a 10 minute maximum session. The pool is closed for 15 minutes after each session for cleaning and sanitising etc. Children’s swimming on a Saturday and swim lessons are not taking place for the moment but will be re introduced as soon as we can. Members are asked to come to the club beach ready with their costume on under their clothes and to shower at home afterwards if possible.
We have restricted the number of members to 10 for each class. After each class the whole studio is cleaned and sanitised. There is no back to back classes but it is virtually the full class timetable as before lockdown. This will be reviewed as we go along and to see what the demand is for classes and if we need to adjust things we will. If the class is full you have the option to go onto a waiting list in case a member cancels their booked class.
I’m afraid if you book a class and do not turn up, or do not cancel, you will be charged £5 & not be allowed to book a class via the app for the next 4 weeks. Please, please if you cannot make a class you need to cancel at least 1 hour before. If you need to cancel within the hour you will need to call the club direct to do this.
Please come to the club in your gym gear ready for the class to avoid using the changing rooms and shower at home afterwards if possible.
If you can bring along your own gym mat for yoga etc that would be a big help as well.
Only members are able to book their visits to the club. There are no Day Passes or swim deals available for the time being until we assess the demand over the next few weeks.
What other changes can I expect at the club?
Throughout lockdown we have been looking into our opening strategy, taking advise from ukactive and following government Covid-19 guidelines. We now have everything in place to welcome members and staff into a safe environment which further enhances our normal high levels of cleanliness
Members are asked to wash their hands before and after entering the club and use the sanitiser provided during there visit. There is now a hand wash station within the gym area for members to use as well. You will notice is hand sanitiser stations as you enter the club and at certain points around the club.
Signage in all areas of the club encouraging social distancing and hygiene together with floor markings etc.
Cleaning and Sanitising
Extra cleaning is taking place as well as the normal routine cleaning after Pool sessions, classes and in the Gym.
Members are asked to use the sanitiser and wipes to clean all touch points of the equipment they are about to use before and after use.
Reception and Kings Cafe
New acrylic defence screens have been installed to the reception desk to protect both members and staff so you can still see a welcome smile as you pass buy.
For now there will only be takeaway coffee and water available at reception, we ask that you bring the correct change to pay. Kings Café is also closed for the time being while we take our first steps into the new normal.
As a member enters the club your temperature will be tested. If it is 38 degrees or above you will not be allowed in the club but advised to go home seek a coronavirus test and to follow government guidelines.

When you book to come into the club on the app you will need to agree to a Health & Safety Declaration before you pop in or sign one as you enter the club. We are asking members to wear a face covering as they enter the club and in all circulation/communal areas in the club. No mask required in the Gym,Pool Hall and studios.
We also need your help with the following:
