Well what a hectic first week after lockdown. It has been quite an emotional time opening up the club again, thinking at one stage that it may never happen. Seeing all the familiar members faces coming back into Kingfisher was so so good, the banter is back, the support has been overwhelming and the club has been buzzing once again.
We are so pleased that members are coping well with the new normal, keeping their social distance, cleaning any equipment they use and giving us great feedback that they feel very safe with the measures we have put in place. After the initial hiccup with the member booking app,( which is fine now) the general feeling is that it is working well and easy to use, giving them a sense of commitment especially when booking a gym slot.
The government has just tightened up on the measures in the Greater Manchester area in the last couple of days as infections have been increasing in some areas. We can see no issues here at Kingfisher and we are carrying on as recommended and following all the guidelines. Can I appeal to members to stick to the social distancing recommendations at all times whether in the club or outside and sanitise regularly. If we all carry on as we have done in the last week the new normal isn’t such a bad place to be with a cleaner safer experience.
It is still early days yet and no doubt we will be refining and tweaking things slightly as we go forward. Stay safe, watch out for each other and easy on the chocolate.
